Classic No Bake Oatmeal Cookies

This is a classic recipe for oatmeal no bake cookies. Some people may call these cookies penuche oatmeal drops. Panuche was a term used to decribe fudge. The receipe below can be whipped up in just minutes and requires very little effort. It is also a great activity to do with young kids.

Ingredients:
* 2 cups light brown sugar
* 1/2 cup unsalted butter
* 1/2 cup milk
* 3/4 cup chopped nuts
* 3 cups rolled oats
* 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan, stir in the sugar and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring often.

In another bowl stir together the oats, nuts, and vanilla.

Pour the sugar and butter over the oats and stir until they are thoroughly coated. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto wax paper.

Place the rounded cookies into the refrigerator to cool, which should take only an hour or two.

This traditional recipe has been used for decades and adjusted to include peanut butter, raisins, Chocolate & other ingredients.
